Idle Vine Brewing Company is a locally owned and operated craft brewery. We live for the craft, our brewing family, and the community that supports us. Creating world class beer with a local mindset is what gets us out of bed every morning.

Meet Our Brewers

We push the boundaries of what beer can be, because to us it is more than just a drink. It's our art, culture, and history. It's how we converse, connect, and build family. It gives us a reason to explore and most importantly, it's a way of life. At the end of the day the only thing we answer to is the quality of our craft.

Scott “Nubz” Ciampa

Header Brewer - Co Founder - Master of his own Domain
Rooting from the south end of Boston, this brewer has traveled all around the U.S. before finding his home in Austin. When crafting his first, albeit terrible batch of beer at the ripe age of sixteen, Scott  knew this was his craft. He continued this hobby for years while working in kitchens all the way through college at Johnson & Wales University, incorporating beer into anything he was allowed to get his hands on. After culinary school Scott decided to start finding a way into the industry that he admired. He took his chances with Asheville, NC where he found a bartending gig that kept him on his feet until an opportunity at Asheville Brewing Company opened up. Long hours of cleaning kegs, labeling bottles, and scrubbing floors opened the doors for Scott to join the brewing team that would bring home more than 20 Carolina Championship of Beer medals as well as a gold medal at the World Beer Cup. He was later recruited to take on a head brewing position up in South Bend, IN where he helped a start-up brewery grow into what it is today. Scott is now carrying out his dream of opening up his own brewery with great friends right here in Austin. Beer rules his life, but when he’s not on the brew deck you can find him in a mosh pit at a punk show, taking a shot of whiskey at a dive-bar, goofily riding his bike around town, or shot-gunning a beer near a camp fire. Be sure to give Nubz a high-five next time you see him around the brewery.

Scott FerGuson

Assistant Brewer - Better Beard Grower
This guy's name is also Scott. Call him Ferguson. It's easier. Ferguson came to Idle Vine from the great white north of Indiana. He fell into the industry by accident and worked his way up in a couple different breweries. Many hours were spent cleaning kegs, fermenters, and anything else that needed cleaning along the way.  After awhile he realized cold and snow are terrible so when a job opportunity at Idle Vine came up, he jumped on it. Ferguson brings passion, experience, creativity, a giant beard, and a love of metal with him. He loves making beer almost as much as he likes drinking it. And he really likes drinking it. Also he thinks Bio-Dome is one of the best movies ever. Feel free to give him a hard time  for that one.
